Processing of personal data
Here we explain in plain words which of your data we receive, why we need them, who sees them and how long we keep them.
The controller of personal data is the Advocates’ Association “ASPEKT”, EDRPOU code 41521052, office 4, 49 Dmytra Doroshenka St., Kyiv 01042, Ukraine. Phone +38 067 404 97 06, email [email protected].
This is a translation. In case of any discrepancy, the Ukrainian text prevails.

When we receive your data
There are four cases, and in each of them you decide whether to contact us:
- you fill in the form on the website;
- you call us, or we call you back;
- you write to our Telegram bot;
- you pay for a consultation on the website.
While you are simply reading the website, we do not know who you are. We hold no data about you, and none are collected.
The form on the website
You see this text next to the button that sends the form. Without your tick the form is not sent, and until then nothing you have written goes anywhere.
By sending an enquiry, you give the Advocates’ Association “ASPEKT” consent to the processing of your personal data and of the personal data of the persons about whom you provide information.
Purpose of processing: reviewing the enquiry, assessing whether legal assistance can be provided, and contacting you.
Data processed: your name, contact details, the information you provide in the enquiry, and the documents you upload.
Who has access: the advocates and staff of the Advocates’ Association “ASPEKT” who take part in reviewing the enquiry. The data are not disclosed to third parties, except in cases expressly provided for by law.
Where the data are stored: in the Association’s protected information systems with restricted access.
How long the data are stored: until a contract for legal assistance is concluded or, if no contract is concluded, for no longer than 12 months from the date of the enquiry, after which they are deleted.
Your rights: at any time you may find out which of your data are being processed, request their correction or deletion, and withdraw your consent — by writing to [email protected] or calling +38 067 404 97 06.
Sending an enquiry does not constitute the conclusion of a contract for legal assistance and does not oblige the Advocates’ Association to accept the case.
Together with the enquiry, we store the time you ticked the consent box and the version of the text you agreed to. If the text ever changes, it will be clear what exactly you accepted.
Phone calls
Calls to the number shown on the website are received by a telephony service. Calls are recorded so that we know exactly what was said; you hear a message about this before the conversation starts. The recording itself, your number, and the date and duration of the call are stored.
The content of your conversation with a lawyer is protected by an advocate’s duty of professional secrecy. The recording is protected in the same way as any other information you have given to the lawyer.
Enquiries through Telegram
Instead of the form, you can write to our Telegram bot. In that case we receive your Telegram username, what you write, and your phone number — if you send it yourself. The bot warns you about this in its very first message. At present the bot works in Ukrainian only.
Telegram itself is a service owned by a third party, and we have no influence over how it works. If you do not want to use Telegram, fill in the form on the website or call us.
Paying for a consultation
Payment on the website goes through the LiqPay payment system. Your card details are entered on the payment system’s side — we neither see nor store them. From the system we receive only the confirmation of payment, its amount and date, and the name and contact details you gave when paying, so that we can contact you.
The terms of the consultation itself, including refunds, are set out in the public offer (in Ukrainian).
Who else has access to the data
We do not sell your data or pass them to anyone who would want to use them for their own purposes. But the website, the telephone and the record of enquiries run on technical services, and the data pass through them. Each of them processes the data only on our instructions and has no right to use them for itself. Under the Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection” such services are processors, not third parties:
- Cloudflare — it hosts the website and forwards mail sent to the Association’s domain address to our mailbox;
- the enquiry management system in which the forms are stored;
- the Association’s Google Drive — documents you upload with the form are stored there;
- the telephony service — receiving calls and recording them;
- Telegram — if you contact us through the bot;
- the OpenStreetMap map service — it shows the map on the contacts page;
- the LiqPay payment system — if you pay for a consultation.
Apart from this, data are disclosed only in cases expressly provided for by law — for example, at the request of a court. Information covered by an advocate’s duty of professional secrecy is protected even against such requests, within the limits set by law.
How long we keep the data
Cookies and advertising
If you came to the website from an advertisement, your browser remembers which advertisement it was. This marker lives until you close the tab and disappears with it. It contains nothing about you personally — only the parameters of the link you followed. It is needed for one thing: so that we can see which advertising actually helps people find us.
If you send the form, this marker is added to the enquiry. If you do not, it goes nowhere.
Your rights
The Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection” gives you the right:
- to know which of your data we process and where we got them;
- to demand that inaccurate data be corrected;
- to demand that data be deleted;
- to withdraw your consent to processing — without giving reasons;
- to lodge a complaint with the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.
Write to [email protected] or call +38 067 404 97 06. We reply within thirty calendar days.
One clarification, to avoid misunderstanding. If you withdraw your consent, we delete your enquiry and stop processing. But if we have already concluded a contract and are handling your case, the data cannot be deleted completely: a lawyer is obliged to keep the case file under the rules of legal practice. In that case we stop everything that is not needed to handle the case.
